You've
probably had the unpleasant experience of waking up early in the morning to a
blaring alarm clock. Often, these early
mornings lead to dark circles under your eyes. If you want to hide these dark
patches, here’s how to cover dark circles.
Begin by Creating a Base
To create a
base, start by covering your circles in moisturizer that’s designed for the
skin around the eye. Be gentle when putting this moisturizer on, because
pulling at the skin can eventually lead to wrinkles. Be sure to just gently dab
on the moisturizer. After that, put a layer of foundation on over the
moisturizer.
Use the Right Concealer
Next, it's
time to cover the circles in concealer. This concealer should be a shade or two
lighter than your natural skin color, because this helps lighten the dark
circles. If you tend to get circles that are a deep shade of purple, use
concealer that’s tinted yellow or peach to neutralize the purple.
Once you have
your concealer, use a thin makeup brush to dot the concealer under your eyes.
Start at the inner corner of your eye—the darkest part of the circle—and move
outwards from there. Then, gently blend the concealer into your skin using your
ring finger.
Set the Concealer with Powder
Setting the
concealer with facial powder is important, because this will keep the concealer
from rubbing off during the day. Dip a soft makeup brush into the facial
powder, and dab the powder into the skin under your eyes until it’s all blended
in.
These tips on
how to cover dark circles will help you effectively hide the darkness under
your eyes. After you do this routine, nobody will be able to guess that you
ever had dark patches.
